25 kms from Maribor lies a beautiful town called Ptuj.
According to some internet research it seems that Romulus Augustus, the first Roman emperor was born in Ptuj around 461.
Located on a hill and overlooking at river Drava, you can easily find Ptuj Castle. It was built in the 12th century for protection from the Hungarians and was turned into a museum right after World War II.
You can find some of the castle’s original furniture and paintings, a musical instrument and a weapon collection and the castle’s chapel. But the best thing is the view from above.
