Gastro movies

‘There is no sincerer love than the love of food’ /George Bernard Shaw/

It’s one thing to hurry to eat your lunch and than get back to work. It’s another thing to really enjoy the food you eat. And another to watch people making or eating food (yep, that’s me…). Here I’m going to list all the food related movies I love.

I dedicate this post to my friend, Helen, who is a sweet tooth just like me. ❤

My favourite food related movie is Chocolat from 2000. It features Juliette Binoche, a chocolate maker who shakes things up in the conservative town she moves to.

What can be cuter than an animal chef? Nothing! This movie not only stole our hearts but the critics’ as well, because it won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film of the Year 2018.

I know it’s not a classic gastro movie, but I have to include Eat, pray, love too. Julia Roberts travels to Italy, India and Indonesia to find all the things that are important in life.

Johnny Depp seems to know his way around chocolate! This is a classic visionary and direction of Tim Burton. The movie was based on the novel of Roald Dahl.

Based on Lasse Hallström’s novel, The Hundred-Foot Journey captures the funny competition between a French Michelin-starred restaurant and an Indian one that moves to its neighborhood.

This animated movie is about a young and passionate inventor who designs a food machine. Is it raining burgers? It can happen!

Bradley Cooper plays a chef who has a lot of drama going on in his life. Definitely watch it if you are interested about what days are like in a classy restaurant.
